Bye Bye Trailer

This "lovley" trailer was left in the middle of the property...

For some reason it was used as a chicken coop..... Yuck!!!

Dad and Luke were able to hook it up to Dad's truck.

Hey! It actually rolled! That was quite surprising considering the wheels on this side are completely flat and coming off the rims!

Wahoo!!!! All gone, no longer in my line of vision from the house!

They dragged it beside the shop, and then the fun started!

Demolition Time!
Skill saw, slug hammers and crowbars....

The finial project! A fame to build into a utility trailer some day.

A big thank you to Dad and the boys for working on this project!

Kitchen Time

When Mom and the Girls were over we also did a lot of work in the kitchen, Genoa took over a bunch of the cooking and baking (note the container of muffins on the counter) and Corday worked on the kitchen base boards.

Genoa also tackled  the pantry and organized it nicely with some baskets!

Laundry "Room"

Not only is this a picture of Teagen's very cool hat; it is also the only before picture I could find of the laundry "room" 😄

Before:

The laundry is set up at the end of the hallway, and it is the first thing that you see when you walk into the house, which I didn't like very much..... so when Mom and the Girls were over we found some nice curtains to hide it! I must say that I am super happy with the set up now! I'm glad little easy fixes can make such a difference!

Blog Housekeeping

A few people have requested a run down of how to get emails when I post on the Blog. I have added a subscribe by email at the bottom of the page. Type in your email and click submit. (Please see picture below) You should receive an email confirming that the email address you entered is correct, once you have followed the instructions on that email you should be good.

The follow by email option only shows up on the web version, if you are on the mobile version you can change it to the web version on the bottom. (Please see picture below)
Not sure if this shows up the same on everyone's or not, but when you make a comment you should be able to choose who you are commenting as (see picture below), sometimes it seems to default to "unknown", which makes a really fun guessing game for me....

Thank You!

Jared's New Job

Jared in his new work clothes... some how he still managed to get a camo hat!

On Saturday, Feb 19 we were taking a bit of a breather from all the unpacking, Jared quickly looked up what new jobs had been posted, just as he had been doing for months.

This time a job was posted from Northern Acreage Supply for a yard manager. This one sounded really exciting because last time we were up in PG we had gone to Northern Acreage to check it out, it was a really neat store that had most of what you needed for a hobby farm.

For the next little bit Jared quickly put together a resume for that job and early afternoon we dropped it off. While we were there Jared had a great conversation with the main sales man there, but the boss was outside on the forklift so we were not able to talk to him. Once the conversation was over we went outside to look around the yard a little more. While we went out the boss must of come in, because a few minutes later the lead sales man came back out saying that Jared should come back on Monday for a interview! Jared was so excited I'm surprised he fell asleep that night.

On Monday the interview went really well. But they said they were waiting on one other resume and would call him back, if he got the job then he could start on Friday. This was still quite positive news, but it wasn't a yes or no, it was still a maybe, which drives Jared bonkers....

An hour later, just as Jared was coming home from some errands, the boss called, apparently the boss's wife had been listening in on the interview (very small office so that wasn't hard to do) and had given the boss a talking to for letting Jared walk away! He then proceeded to ask if Jared could start working tomorrow!  So 4 whole days after we got to PG Jared already had a job lined up!!!! I definitely think God was keeping that one in his back pocket for him!

Anyway now that he has been working at Northern Acreage for a whole week I can give a bit of a better job description. Northern Acreage is a small company of about 8-10 people, so everyone knows a little bit about everything. Jared's main responsibility is making sure the feed warehouse is organized and stocked, and the yard stays as organized as possible. His other duties include but are not limited to:
- putting together tractor attachments
- forklift maintenance
- assembling bee keeping supplies
- assembling tractors
- clearing snow off the yard
- unloading trucks that come in with supplies
- loading customers up with their orders
- helping customers find what they need in the store or yard (I'm sure he can try sell them on stuff too 🙂)
- and another random jobs that the boss would like him to do!

Over all there hasn't been a dull or same day there yet! And you are always expected to be learning something new! They are super happy and impressed with Jared, they say that he is a fast learner and a good worker!

Jared has been happy with the job too, he comes home tired, but happy and everyday he feel very blessed to have a job that fits him so perfectly!
