Inspiration Quotes

It's been a little tricky to keep myself motivated over the last few weeks...not really from the lack of things to do, just that there isn't much time pressure or reason to do them...and then if I do find reasons to do something sometimes I just get stuck in my own head. So I found some quotes that will hopefully keep me in gear!
Now that they are up and hanging in a spot that I see them every time I sit down hopefully they will keep me moving! I put the most important on in the middle 😛
I might need to change the backings on them in a few weeks once I've painted the wall beside them... but we'll just have to wait and see.

Hazel's Highchair

Hazel's first time in a highchair! She really seems to enjoy the new perspective, which you can tell by the smile and the fast moving feeties 😄

Thanks again to Papa for finding the highchair, it even matches my colour theme!
Hazel also enjoyed the new "toys"
and watching Mommy make dinner.
Getting milk on a spoon rather then nursing just didn't cut it though...
I thought that would be a good thing to start with to teach her how to swallow milk while being spoon fed before we moved into more solid food. Getting it into her mouth wasn't much of a problem, but keeping it in there...well that didn't work so well.
Hazel's first spoonful, most of it didn't end up staying in... but she does open her mouth for the spoon! So we are heading in the right direction! (see video below)

Lil Baby Elephants

A sleeper from Nana and handmade pictures from Auntie Corday. They happened to match so I figured a photo shoot was due 😊
" The sleeper is like a combination of the two pictures. A happy awake baby elephant on the moon! 😅" - Corday Van Vliet

It was a little hard to get smiles out of Hazel as she just came out of the bath.. but she is nice and clean!
humm.. what is this...?
I think I'll eat it!

Grandparents and Great Grandparents

"Heartfelt congratulations to new parents, new grandparents, new great-grandparents, new uncles and aunts, great-uncles and great-aunts, new second cousins or first cousins twice-removed or whatever they are called (did I forget anyone?) What a blessing!  And little does little Hazel know how many lives and titles she has altered!" - Jason Van Vliet

A few precious pictures that I have been collecting and waiting to share. What a blessing for Hazel to have so many Grandparents and Great Grandparents! I hope everyone is happy with the titles they chose, because now they are posted! 😉

Frosty Fall

The last two days were kind of rainy and then it went to -2 over night, so I guess that equals a lot of frost! Here is a few pictures of what we woke up to this morning!
I liked the wavy lines in the puddle.

Frozen spider webs look sooo cool!

Wood, Wood and More Wood!

Time to prep for winter! Temperatures are staying pretty low with a highs of about 11 degrees and a lows between 4 and -3 degrees, so the wood stove is on a lot more now. Tuesday was a extra day off for Jared so we rented a log splitter and filled up our wood shed with slit wood. What is in the wood shed was what we had left over from last year and a tree or two that Jared cut down.

Jared's boss also brought a bunch of wood that he had cut down on this property which he didn't need .
By lunch break we had all the wood cut that was in the wood shed already. Jared split and I stacked, which worked really well. I stayed dry and carried the smaller pieces. Jared was not as dry and had to pick up the bigger pieces...
By coffee break we had another whole row completed
and had made a pretty good dent in this wood pile!
The last row was tricky to stack because you couldn't walk beside it, so I climbed up to stack it up a little bit more.
Ta-Da! All done!

Hazel and Her Tricks!

Hazel is 5 months already! It all goes so fast! She is not little anymore and outgrew the 3-6 month stuff really quick, now there are a few 6-9 outfits that fit really nice. Hazel is also loving her new knowledge of her arms and legs, I don't think that they stop moving much... keep scrolling and she will show you!
Look I can move my arm around!
And my legs and my arms!
Haha, Mommy got you while you weren't moving!
And my arms...
And my legs...
Look at my feeties!
I can blow bubbles!
I can make happy noises

And sometimes I like to laugh at Daddy!
And flap my arms...
or just one arm...
Sometimes I stop moving and smile nice!
But that's probably because I'm tired...
Hope you enjoyed the show 😊
