Slowly but surely its looking more garden like, and actually look like plants would grown in there again. Jared took the top off so I can actually reach around the whole garden now.

Tractor!

A good old Massy Ferguson showed up on our yard on Saturday. This tractor is about 55 - 60 years old. At this point it had not run in over a year and would need a bit if TLC before it started running again.

It nicely rolled off the trailer for us, no pushing required!

Happy farm boy!

We started to work on it that night already (as in Jared worked on it, I watched....) once we put a battery on it the starter worked quite well. But after draining the old fuel, and unplugging the fuel line, and adding new fuel Jared noted that the carburetor needed to be cleaned too. Much to Jared's disappointment, this would have to wait till Monday as it was already 10:00...

All trucked away for the night.
Somehow we managed to roll it in there....

By 10:00 or so on Monday morning Jared drove the tractor out of the shop!
He was up bright and early that morning working on it. I believe in about 8-10 hours of work the tractor and the hydraulics were working smoothly!

I love his face right at the end of the video!

I even got to drive it too! Mind you I drive it A LOT slower then Jared does!!!

Out of Sight, Out of Mind

Jared recently made a shelf in baby's closet so that I could take most of the stuff on the floor and move it out of the way. Although it did accomplish exactly that... it still looked kind if messy and that happens to be my view from my chair in baby's room....
So I was in curtain "making" mode today as I can't decide if I want blinds or curtains in our rooms.... and I came across some valances that had come with a bed set we bought a while ago! I found part of a curtain rod that was left behind and "VOLA!" a nice hidden shelf! I must say I'm rather proud of myself! 😊

Fire Fighter Training

Pineview Volunteer Fire Department Training
Jared and I found the community fire hall when we went for a Sunday afternoon bike ride a few Sundays ago. They had a sign on the door asking for volunteers...Jared's interest was peaked...

Below are some pictures of the second training session that Jared attended. Often the training is done at the firehall, but this evening it was done at the Pineview community hall, which happens to be a 5ish minute walk down the road. Sure glad I decided to go for a walk that evening!!!

Some of the Pictures are a little blurry due to the evening light, but hopefully you can still get something out of the pictures.

Jared is at the back of the group, his face kind of looks black because he has a black bandana on... Really hard to keep track of who is who when they all wear the same coveralls...
Jared is the one with the hose and his back to us...
Apparently one of their teaching moments is letting you use the hose on lower pressure and the turning on the pumps without telling you.... This teaching moment didn't work very well on Jared... as he is quite accustom to hoses and pressure... Nice try teacher!!!😂

I believe Jared is holding the hose on this picture too.
One of the trucks got called away during the training.

Wrapping up the hoses, not much training need on that step 😛 (Jared is on the far right, close to the yellow dumpster.)

Uncovered

Slowly but surely the snow is melting... as you can see there is still snow around, but this is the most of yard that we have actually seen without the snow (as we never actually got to see this place without the snow before we bought it...). There has been quite a few useful and not so usefully discoveries along the way... Random tarps, a snow shovel, an extension cord, a really old pair of branch clippers, lots of broken electrical fencing, cinder blocks, more tires, and random wood and pallets everywhere....

This picture actually makes it look a lot better then it is.... all the brown grass is about 2-3ft tall, but it has all been flattened.... and the ruts in the yard are quite deep.... I say this not to be negative or disappointed, but so we have an accurate pictures to look back onto as we keep working the property.

Most of these Pictures were taken from the top of the play house. This picture is facing North-East.

First Tree

The boys thought they should go a cut down a tree, seemed like a northern thing to do. Jared found one that was too close to the lagoon that needed to be cut down anyways. Everyone got to take turns trying to take the tree down with the wood splitting axe (not designed for cutting down trees), it wasn't long before the chain saw came out...

Jared: " I'll just take my truck back there and we can load the wood up!"
Unfortunately snow on the other side of the fence is much deeper then the yard side! I would say the truck got quite stuck! Thankfully Jared installed a winch on it a while ago and was able to winch himself out!

According to Sheldon " If the vehicle is self-unstickable then it's not stuck!"

So if the above statement is correct then the little blue truck has not been stuck yet!

First tree off the property all nicely cut for fire wood!

Playhouse

Before:

Chicken wire, electric fencing, metal shelves, pallets and another random wood made the fence around the bottom of the play house for goats. There was lots of nails sticking out at random places and a ladder going to the very top roof...

Mikah and Caleb managed to clear away the "fence" so that you could actually get onto the play house.

Later Caleb finished it off by taking down the ladder that went to the top roof, replaced half of the railing that was really wobbly and made the ladder into two smaller ones so you can actually get onto the platforms a little easier! A few more safety features need to be added, but overall it's a lot safer and nicer looking then it was!!!

Handyman

When your dryer decides it doesn't live up to its name any more....😔

But your hubby is a handy man and he can fix it, once we got the replacement parts!
