"How are the chicks doing?" Well, they are growing fast! After they were in their box for a few days we moved them into a crate so they had some more room to run around. They lasted for about 2 or 3 days in the crate before they were almost able to jump out and my house started to smell like chicken barn...
So Hazel and I set up the chicken coop that Jared and I put together in the shop about a week earlier. Hazel LOVED playing in the sawdust and throwing it around. She did discover that it doesn't taste very good though...
That evening the chicks got moved into the chicken coop.
Starting to get more adventurous
May 16 - just over 3 week old. At this point they have at least doubled if not tripled their size.
May 18 - It's getting easier to tell which ones are which now. The lighter ones are the roosters and the darker ones are the hens. There are still quite a few that are in the middle and quite hard to tell so we will have to wait till they are older before we really know how much of each we have.
I still loved watching them run around, not quite as cute as when they were little chicks, but still very entertaining. (Video Below)
they seem to be doing very well. How quickly they grow.

Hi Tonisha, you can now add one more hat to the many you already wear, chicken farmer. Hope it keeps going well. How long before they produce eggs?
